A 2003 Clarion graduate, Will McIntosh recently won the Hugo Award for best short story. By day, he's a psychology professor at Georgia Southern University. His first novel, Soft Apocalypse, is scheduled to be published in April, 2011, by Night Shade Books.
Will just submitted another novel, Deadland, to his agent. It's about an Atlanta-based comic strip artist who, in the wake of a massive terrorist attack, is possessed by his late grandfather, who started the strip and didn't give him permission to continue it. The cartoonist is not alone: a half million others in the Atlanta area have also recently become possessed by the dead.
Next to writing science fiction and fantasy, some of his favorite things include indie films, collecting original comic book art, Jethro Tull, Morning Star Farms frozen foods, and coffee shops in downtown Savannah. He lives with his wife Alison Scott and their 2 year-old twins, Hannah and Miles, in Statesboro, Georgia.
